One of the most anticipated shows of the entire year finally happened. Fans of both promotions have been waiting for this show since it was announced and sold out. We didn’t get the roster we wanted at this show, but it was set up to be absolutely stellar lineup of incredible matches.
My show of the weekend.. so far
As far as the big shows are concerned, this was my favorite over NXT TakeOver New York. I’m not saying NXT wasn’t great, because that’s foolish. That card was absolutely amazing and it had some quality matches. However, the back half of this show was very, very good. Naito vs Ibushi alone was my favorite match I’ve seen this weekend and I think the majority of the wrestlers were booked to look very, very strong.
The show was paced so well
A big reason I enjoyed this show is because of the pacing. The matches happened so quickly, but had plenty of time to breath. The only short match was Rush vs Dalton Castle and it served a purpose that works well. I never felt bored and each match was placed in a way to make me more excited than the last. The other nice thing, you ask? Well, we got rid of all the Ring of Honor “duds” very quickly and that helped us get prepared for the bigger matches on the card.
Anyway, On to the Show
As always, I have written some quick thoughts on the show and now it’s time to give you video and audio links to my recap. I went solo on this one, so I hope you guys enjoy it. This card definitely lived up to the hype for me.
